Hello
Currently, I'm completing my Master's Degree in Podcasting and Audio Reportage from New York University.
Prior to this, I volunteered a year of national service with AmeriCorps as an environmental interpreter for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
I graduated from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. My minors were in Comedy Writing and Performance and Peace and Social Justice. During my time in school, I had over half a dozen internships with nonprofits, newspapers, etc.- culminating in a six-month, full-time co-op at "The Boston Globe." In 2023, I was selected as the Society of Professional Journalists Graduate of the Year.
In addition to journalism and research writing, I also enjoy screenwriting, comedy, DEI, vocational training, acting, and ABA. For my next challenge, I hope to explore scientific journalism through an aural medium. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me!
My Story
Growing up as one of very few LGBTQ+ people in my hometown, I quickly learned the power of storytelling for amplifying marginalized voices. I started writing for my school paper and attending conferences with groups such as the ACLU and the National Student Diversity Leadership Conference. I've taken multiple trips to Malawi where I work with a local organization to provide period kits and menstrual education to villagers. In 2022, I was selected to partake in the Gender Equality Taskforce at Camp 2030, a subsidiary of the United Nations. After presenting a solution to stakeholders from NGOs in New York City, my team was awarded second place. We are in the process of launching a global resource for menstrual health in school curriculums. I've had the opportunity to visit over twenty countries and work as a farmhand, pedal the Boston swan boats, guide ghost tours, and do other "side quests." Most recently, I edited videos for the International Planned Parenthood Federation in Morocco. Together, these experiences make me well-rounded, knowledgeable of people, and an exceptional journalist.
